I’m Peter, I serve as the Pastor of Adult Connections and Missional Life at Westbrook Christian Church. I’m a bit of nerd and lover of books. I spend my days going on adventures with my wife, Lindsay, and chasing after our lovable toddler. I’m glad that you’ve come to check out my blog. My goal is to share with you what I’m learning about following Jesus in the lifelong pilgrimage called discipleship.
In our instant society, the idea of being pilgrim is a foreign concept. Pilgrims are people who travel for religious reasons and typically do so over a long period of time. On top of that, part of the experience was how the journey changed you. In our culture, however, the faster we can travel, the better. We can be practically anywhere around the world in a matter of 24 hours or less. We often treat following Jesus in the same way. We want to be like him now. We want results. Following Jesus is a pilgrimage. It comes through patient and faithful following.
I hope that you will join me in the pursuit of being pilgrim disciples of Jesus.
“The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!”
